Jobs For 2018

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the fastest growing occupations by 2018 for high school graduates and beyond.

Biomedical engineers with master's degrees in science will be in demand. Massachusetts, California and Pennsylvania will require medical scientists at research institutions.

Older populations will need personal aides and as well as 375,000 licensed home health aides. Boomers will use more skin care specialists.

Connecticut, Nevada and Washington pay top salaries for physician's assistants. Nine thousand biochemists and biophysicists will study disease and genetic disorders and 6,000 trainers will assist doctors in areas such as sports medicine.

Recent business scandals will call for 45% more financial examiners – people with accounting backgrounds. Network systems and data communications analysts will have starting salaries above $75,000.
