Anti-Defamation League Sponsors Walk Against Hate Next Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Next Sunday, more than a thousand people are expected to pound the pavement along Martin Luther King Drive in Philadelphia in a show of force against bigotry.

The inaugural Walk Against Hate is organized by the Anti-Defamation League.

Regional director Barry Morrison says there's no crisis that spurred the 5K walk and fundraiser. He says it's simply to get right-minded, like-minded people together.

"They are affirming the diversity that is increasingly a feature of our society, and that the future is a future that respects differences and offers no safe haven for anybody that hates or discriminates against people because of their difference," said Morrison.

The walk is from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 15th. The event includes activities for kids -- such as face painting, scavenger hunts, and entertainers.
