Joy-Riding Teen Crashes Into Gas Line In Drexel Hill

DREXEL HILL, Pa. (CBS) – Police say an unlicensed teenager crashed into a gas line while joyriding early Friday morning.

The incident happened shortly after midnight in the 4900 block of State Road in Drexel Hill.

According to police, a 17-year-old, who did not have a license, borrowed a car and was recklessly driving around behind Anthony's Ristorante.

The teen lost control of the car and crashed into a gas main, causing a gas leak. The teen was taken into police custody.

Crews spent the early morning hours Friday working to repair the gas line.

The incident remains under police investigation.
