PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local man was driving around the city of Philadelphia today, his pickup truck pulling a handmade float, celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden.
It’s a small float but loud with martial music, festooned with bunting and red, white, and blue ribbons. And in the trailer, alongside a helmet, boots, and a brass bell, the mannequin of an America soldier blows a trumpet.
Wearing a western-style hat and shirt adorned with stars and stripes, Col. Harry Buzby of Philadelphia’s “Eagle Heroes of America” says his float is to celebrate and remember.
“Very important for me and for America,” he said this morning outside the Independence Visitors Center, in center city Philadelphia. “Because on my plate, if you look back there, my license plate says ’9/11 Hero.’ “
Buzby, 82, says he just got out of the hospital, “for little stuff,” but he says he made sure he and his float got out on the streets of Philadelphia today.
