Phillies Put RHP Joe Blanton On DL With Elbow Injury
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Phillies have put right-hander Joe Blanton on the 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury.
Vance Worley will be recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start against the New York Mets on Friday night. Worley was 2-2 with a 2.78 ERA in four starts for the IronPigs.
Blanton is 0-1 with a 5.92 ERA in four starts. The Phillies say he has an impingement in his elbow.
