Philadelphia Couple Prepares For Their Own "Royal Wedding"

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Forget London. Philadelphia has a wedding on the royal date we can call our own.

Eric Thomas and Michelle McQuillan will say "I do" about four hours after the future King and Queen of England do. They're getting married at Grace Baptist Church of Germantown at 10 a.m.

In case you're wondering, Thomas and McQuillan had the date first, choosing it last May. McQuillan wanted it to coincide with her spring break. She's a teacher of, appropriately enough, English.

"At first, people kept telling me 'They took your date. They took your date," said McQuillan. "I said 'Who took my date?' They said 'There's going to be a royal wedding on your date.' I said 'How nice!'"

She really isn't upset at all.

"I'm happy for any couple who's found love," she said. "So it's been a joy to share their journey."

The two couples have a lot in common beyond just their future anniversary. They've both been dating for a number of years. And Thomas and McQuillan even have a royal title they've picked out; at least she says so: The King and Queen of Mt. Airy.

At least for one very royal day: April 29, 2011.
