PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Hat shops in the area have been doing a brisk business for the royal wedding.
INTERACTIVE: The Will & Kate Wedding
At “Hats in the Belfry,” on the corner of Third and South Streets in South Philadelphia, sales associate Christine Boyer (above) says she has been selling hats to men and women who want to watch the royal wedding on TV in style.
What are the top sellers?
“The bowler and the top hat are from our line, Hats in the Belfry, and it’s a black wool felt hat,” says Boyer. “And for the ladies it’s a cinnamony straw type of hat — it’s made a very fine, woven straw. On some of them the brims are upturned or downturned. You’ve got he top that is kind of oval-shaped and it has a satin bow around it, or it may have feathers.”
And she says a traditional type of headpiece known as a “fascinator” sold out days ago.
