PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A program that feeds hungry families in North Philadelphia is asking area residents to help fund the program by dining at home one night next month.
The Farm-to-Families Program of St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children provides fresh farm produce to several North Philadelphia neighborhoods. Now, to help fund the program, organizers are asking people to dine in one night next month and then donate the money they would have spent at a restaurant.
“People can participate at any level,” says foundation executive director Jan Shaeffer (above). “They can have a brunch, a lunch, a barbeque, just a meal at home.”
You can find out more and get recipes to use at home by going to DineInHelpOut.org.
