Delaware County Resident Serenades Philadelphia Council In Protest Of Airport Expansion

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Nothing beats a political speech more than a political song, and that's exactly what City Council members were serenaded with during a budget hearing Wednesday.

City Council President Anna Verna did not seem particularly pleased during the public comment portion of the budget hearing when Glen Waldeck showed up guitar in hand.

"Do whatever it is you're going to do," Verna told Waldeck.

"I'm going to testify," Waldeck replied.

And with that Waldeck -- who lives in Delaware County near the airport, broke into a song, apparently written in protest of plans to expand the airport.

"Interstate 95 runs north and south,
We made lanes of highway to sort it all out,
The Schuylkill Expressway won't run east or west,
During rush hour traffic with the drivers all stressed..."

No word if he'll be back for a return engagement.

You can listen to Waldeck's "testimony" in the podcast below.
