PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A hefty smartphone that may have outsmarted itself, that’s next on your tech support.

Taiwanese company htc is becoming a popular choice for smartphones with the likes of the Evo and the HD7. One of its newest devices is the Thunderbolt, which is touted as a super fast smartphone that also taps into the new speedy wireless network, 4g lte, from Verizon.

Running on the android operating system, it’s a powerful smartphone, to be sure. But all that power has to come from somewhere, and unfortunately the battery life of the thunderbolt leaves something to be desired for anyone who relies on one gadget throughout the work day. There are some workarounds and settings to ease the strain, but hopefully future versions will get a little more juice from the battery. Otherwise, the Thunderbolt’s power will fizzle.
