Man Rushed To Temple University Hospital After Armed Robbery At SEPTA Station

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 22-year-old man was rushed to Temple University Hospital after being robbed and shot at a SEPTA station Saturday afternoon.

At about 3:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police were called to the 2200 block of North Broad Street for a shooting that took place on the northbound platform of SEPTA's Broad Street line at the Susquehanna-Dauphin stop.

Authorities say the suspect approached the victim with a gun above ground and stole the victim's iPhone. Shortly thereafter, the suspect followed the victim underground towards the platform and allegedly opened fire. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Police are still searching for the shooter but say that the victim is in stable condition. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jeans on Dauphin Street.

Northbound train service was stopped at the Susquehanna-Dauphin station for about an hour due to police activity but has resumed.
