Hatboro Woman Inspired By Facebook Page Donates To Shelters Across The World

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A local woman inspired by the spring holidays is helping those who need food and encouragement.

A social media posting from a former colleague inspired Christine Weissner (photo) of Hatboro to get involved with a group called International Brown Bag Lunches of Love. "I saw it on Facebook, and in three weeks I was able to get enough food."

By the end of the weekend, Weissner and her friends will have put together several hundred brown bag lunches. "They're going to shelters; a lot of them are going to little kids who don't have families, so it seems fitting to have it during the Passover time."

Those lunches include juice, a sandwich, a snack, fruit, "And my husband and I and my children wrote about 500 letters of encouragement and colored them."

Weissner headed just one of many chapters participating across the country. "We made about 600 lunches in Hatboro, but in a nutshell it's probably over about 100,000 lunches."
