Father Dan Ruff says the Easter weekend can be looked at as a metaphor for everyday life.

"This pascal pattern is very much a part of our experience as well, that we're always undergoing little deaths to our own expectations hopes and dreams, but hopefully also we're also dying to our allusions and our weaknesses."

The Weekend continues with Holy Saturday, marking the end of lent and culminates with Easter Sunday, which celebrates Christ's resurrection.
