American Water In NJ Urges The Public To Ditch Plastic Bottles

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A local water company is challenging the public to put down the plastic bottle and drink only tap water.

American Water, based in Voorhees, N.J., is marking its 125th anniversary and the observance of Earth Day by urging consumers to drink only tap water in recognition of its environmental and economic values.

Denise Venuti-Free is manager of external communications for American Water. She says people are being urged to go on the company’s website and take the pledge to reduce their reliance on plastic water bottles.

“You’re asked how many bottles of water per week you purchase and consume. And then the computer tracks the savings to the environment over the course of a year.”

In, 1960, Florida, people kicked the cocoanuts, that dropped from the trees, out of their walking and driving paths. Then they paid 50 cents for them in the supermarkets.
There is nothing wrong with our tap water, except, maybe, the fluoride that has been added. The only thing we know about bottled water is it’s in bottles, which some times, is tap water “run through additional filters.” Seventy plus years, doing well, and I never drank bottled water, or spent much time doctor quack’s office either.

This is interesting coming form American Water in Voorhees because I was recently at an event where American Water donated plastic water bottles filled with tap water and they had a label that said American Water and all their company info on it!!! It was great PR and helped the fundraiser. However, today that same company wants us to stop buying water bottles when they themselves use plastic bottles to advertise their own company! It can’t work both ways.

How about taking the time today to think about what Christ went through on the cross at Calvary, and how He willingly went there to take upon Himself the pain and guilt for all of our sins. It is because of Him and His resurrection three days later that we have hope beyond the grave and hope eternal. Accept the free gift of salvation in Christ today. It will make a difference in your life!

Consumption of tap minus plastic water consumption equal more tap equals
more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Tap water is a mixture of chemicals
and radon, that will hurt your body. the water standards need to be updated.

Like they say in Mexico, don’t drink the water……………..
