PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Pennsylvania’s primary election is set for May 17th, but if you want to vote in the election, don’t forget to register to vote.
If you’re voting for the first time, have a change of address or wish to change your political party affiliation, today is the deadline to register.
Andrea Kirschner, Co-President of the League of Women Voters of Bucks County, said voting in this year’s primary is crucial.
“There’s a lot of municipalities that have positions open that people are going to be filling, such as school boards. These are things that effect their every day lives,” Kirschner said.
In Philadelphia, voters will cast their ballots in May for several key political officers, including mayor, as well as all 17 seats on City Council. Voters across the state will also have the opportunity to vote for judges, sheriffs and the list goes on.
For more information on voter registration go to VotesPA.com.
