PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The medical term is dyspepsia but most of us know it as indigestion. Most of us know the symptoms — they include bloating or feeling too full too early when you eat. It can also lead to acid reflux which is that burning pain that goes up into the esophagus.

In many cases we don’t know what causes it but aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine and a high fat diet are all likely offenders. If it is a problem that bothers you on a regular basis you might consider a visit to your doctor.

There is a bacteria called helicobacter pylori which can cause indigestion and ulcers. There are two other causes worth mentioning. They are stress and depression — both need to be taken seriously as potential causes.
