PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Parx in Bensalem will be the latest Pennsylvania casino to add a special area for high stakes table games players.

Parx Casino has been given approval to set up a high limit room with 14 table games taking two high limit tables already on the gaming floor and adding a dozen more, putting them all in a special area.

Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach says it’s yet another example of the rapid expansion of table games since they come on line in Pennsylvania less than a year ago:

“A lot of these casinos are seeing people coming in from out of state and some of them are individuals who will wager more than others in the past. So they’re preparing both for the regular daily guy that comes in and plays table games and for others that want to make this a destination.”

SugarHouse and Harrah’s each have high limit rooms. Other Pennsylvania casinos have high limit rooms for slots and some have high limit rooms for both slots and tables.
