PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Good Samaritan helped save the lives of two men who were inside a burning home in northeast Philadelphia Saturday morning.
Dennis Weiss, Jr. was driving by the 5500 block of Torresdale Avenue in Wissinoming just after 2 a.m. when he spotted flames coming from the second floor apartment.
He parked his car and rushed inside to help before firefighters even arrived.
“Once they heard the commotion, people started coming out. I got the neighbors out next door and then everybody at that point were working together and knocking on each individual door and bringing everyone out,” said Weiss.
He said that everyone seemed to be okay when they came down, but they had a lot of soot on their faces.
Two men were treated fro smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation this evening.

unfortunately the “Good Samaritan” is lying!!!!! MY high school friend was in that fire and when we picked him up he said there was no “good Samaritan” rescuing people!!!!! It’s a shame ppl lie to get noticed….. I’m just glad that my friends are safe!!! I’m contacting CBS now to report the lie…
