LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) - A suburban Philadelphia mall is “going green” on Saturday to help celebrate Earth Day and give area residents a chance to clean out some of the junk in their homes.
From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., the Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne, Pa. will celebrate Earth Day inside and outside the mall. Outdoors. The mall is holding a free electronic recycling event where residents can dump their old computer equipment such as monitors, keyboards and printers.
Mall Marketing Director Jim Malervy says there’s also free document shredding to raise awareness about consumer fraud.
“People can bring in their old documents, make sure their identity is safe and it gives them the opportunity to really be involved in not just recycling but also recycling the paper that they’ve used in the past.”
Inside the mall, kids can “go green” and learn ways to keep the environment clean and healthy with help from Philadelphia Eagles “green” mascot Swoop and some clowns from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus.
