PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – McDonald’s is having its first hiring day April 19th – hiring 50,000 employees nationwide in an attempt to better staff its restaurants.

There are 1,325 jobs in this area, almost 60 of them at the four restaurants owned and operated by Rosa Rosado, including one at the Gallery at Market East.

She says hires should really understand the potential for growth at McDonalds.

“That french fry person, that register person, who eventually worked their way up and developed,” she said.

David Santoro is the owner operator of seven McDonald’s in Burlington County, NJ and in Delaware County, Pa.

“For people who may be homemakers or things like that, where their children go to school, possibly they can work from 9 to 2, which is a great opportunity for them.”
