PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A shooting in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia injures a 13-year-old boy.
The shooting took place at approximately 12:05 a.m. Sunday while the teen was walking down the 1500 block of McKinley Street. According to police, the 13-year-old boy was approached by two males, between the ages of 15 and 18, asking him for drugs. One of the men pulled out a small handgun and at the point the men told the boy not to move.
The boy did run away and at that point was shot in the leg. Despite being shot, he was able to make it to his house on the 6200 block of Souder Street. Someone called 911 and he was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Police report the boy’ cell phone was stolen as well.
The shooting is still under investigation.
