Fatal Crash Stalls Rt. 476 In Montgomery County

WORCESTER Twp., Pa. (CBS) -- A fatal crash on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike shut down northbound traffic in Montgomery County.

Just before 4:30 p.m. two vehicles were involved in a serious accident at mile marker 26 in Worcester Township.

According to police one of the vehicles flipped and caught fire. The driver, who was ejected during the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other victims were air lifted to area hospitals in unknown condition.

Northbound lanes were closed between the mid-county and Lansdale exits.
