PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you’re looking to get your business booming, a local university thinks you should consider one particular emerging market.
Holy Family University is hosting a free seminar Friday morning on the benefits of doing business in the Pacific Rim.
“It’s got tremendous growth going on — you’re looking at six to eight percent average across ten countries,” said Jan Duggar (pictured), dean of Holy Family Universiy School of Business Administration. “That’s in contrast to what’s going on in the US and Europe, where we’ve got very modest growth.”
Duggar says this is not about taking jobs away from America, where they’re needed, and moving them to places like Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand:
“The opportunity really is to add new markets, new services and products for that overseas market.”
Registration is open to anyone.
The seminar is from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Holy Family’s ETC Auditorium on April 8. Register by sending an email to sgregory@holyfamily.edu.
