PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Anxiety is a serious issue for both men and women.

In women we are definitely seeing an increase and have noticed it for several decades. Many women feel anxiety especially in today’s world because they’re feeling the pressure of the many responsibilities they have.

The societal expectations for most men have not changed much over the past forty years but for many women there are more emotional and financial responsibilities than there once were. The reason for anxiety for those in the workforce in many can be the stress of combining the needs of home life with the pressures of the work world.

A recent study found that women who have partners who are supportive and share responsibilities more fully are less prone to stress and anxiety.
