Pain At The Pump: Gas Prices Rising

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The cost to have a car is enough to drive many people crazy. Even after you get the car, you have to maintain your vehicle.

According to AAA the total cost to operate your vehicle is up. Tire costs are up almost 16% and today, gas prices reached a new 30-month high.

"I drive normally but I just think it's just ridiculous," said Kristal L

In the Philadelphia area, your likely paying $3.66 per gallon. Last week it was $3.57 says Triple A spokesperson Rick Remington.

"Our analysts are projecting prices should level off about  3.75 into the summer," said Remington.

"It's definitely a good thing for us," said South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokesperson Andrew Busch. "We're steady seeing an increase in ridership."

Busch went on to say they've noticed a 5% increase this year compared to last year around this time. With each passing day bringing higher prices at the pump, experts say, be prepared.

"Look out," said Remington. "We really don't know where they're going. We thought they were steady but now they're back up again."
