Elderly Philadelphia Woman Trapped On Toilet For Days

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 93-year-old Philadelphia woman was rushed to the hospital after she reportedly fell into her toilet and became trapped for several days.

The victim was taken from her residence at the Tioga Presbyterian Apartments near 15th and Tioga Streets and transported to Temple University Hospital at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to medics, crews removed the woman from her home and she still had a piece of the toilet attached to her.

The woman is reportedly in stable condition. It is believed she was trapped for at least two days, possibly even three.

Officials said the elderly woman missed a scheduled phone check-in with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging.

Every bathroom at the independent living facility is equipped with an emergency pull cord, but a building official says the 93-year-old never pulled the cord.

all u people make a joke, are really sick, my mother died from a fall in her bathroom, getting off the toilet , she was over 90 , she was in there for 5 day before anyone found her, well guess what she died from getting no help, may god have mercy on those of u making fun, that your mother /sister , or family happens to fall too,

    1. obama says:

lets see if u people that made fun would be laughing if that was your mother, i surely hope when u get old like her u don’t happen to have the same mishap and think about this, what if no one found her, she’d be dead, ya laugh now at your dead mother falling in a toilet,

if she was young, healthy, i would be laughing too, but there is a point, that when crossed , is beyond distasteful. those of you laughing, i hope when you are elderly you get abandoned in pain, close to others yet afraid and alone. my own mother fell and injured her already messed up leg. she was on the floor for 3 hours, i still feel guilty to this day. 3 days? this elder should be checked on every day, didn’t she miss meals at this facility???? how could no on notice? i was raised better than those who laugh, i was raised to show respect, and to feel empathy. sickening laughter like those on this site is what is wrong with the world, and what is mainly wrong with america. i am glad i was raised better, up north here. damn ignorant swine, learn when to laugh and when to pity or someone will be laughing at you one day when all you want is help.
