'Real World' Auditions Come To Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- Hundreds lined up in center city today to audition for the longest running reality series on television. KYW's John McDevitt reports.

Eight strangers are being picked to live in a house for the 26th season of MTV's real world.

Jessica Thompson is a casting director with Bunim/Murray in Philadelphia from Los Angeles.

"We just always have good success with Philly. This is my eighth city. We have already hit up quite a few cities. I think, overall, we will probably see anywhere from 35 to 40 cities between all of us."

As to where next season will be?

"You know, it hasn't even been locked yet, but if it has been, they're keeping it under wraps," Thompson says.

Professional water-skier 20-year-old Garrett Voss was in line filling out his application. He says the question that was most difficult to answer was 'what is the worst trait about yourself?'

'Sometimes I come down hard on people. I probably call people out when I shouldn't. I probably could be rude at times.'

But doesn't that make for good television?

"Yeah, that is good TV," Voss admitted.

The production company says it's for picking surprising and unusual life stories that have yet to be told on television.
