PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An elderly woman was taken to the hospital after being injured in a house fire in Northeast Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.
The fire started just after 7 a.m. inside a home in the 600 block of Parlin Street in the city’s Somerton section.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke coming from inside the home.
A 92-year-old female was taken to Aria Health’s Torresdale Hospital. She is listed in stable condition after suffering from smoke inhalation.
Firefighters declared the fire under control within 15 minutes.
There’s no word on the cause.
