Police: 19-Year-Old Kidnapped From Atlantic City Home At Gunpoint

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Atlantic City Police are requesting the public’s help in searching for a young woman who was a victim of an armed home invasion and kidnapping Saturday night.

At the time of the incident, Nadirah Ruffin, 19, was visiting a friend’s house in the 800 block of North Maryland Avenue in Atlantic City.

Police say Ruffin was forced at gunpoint out of the residence and placed into an unknown vehicle.

Robin Rieger reports…

The four armed assailants carried handguns and were covered by masks and hooded sweatshirts, according to authorities.

Ruffin is described as a black female, about 5’4” and 120 pounds with a medium complexion. She has several tattoos including “so sweet” on her left neck. She was last seen wearing a blue Polo sweater and blue jeans. Police say she was wearing braids in her hair at the time of her kidnapping.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Detective Bureau at 609-347-5766.

Um, 1, it’s easy enough to have a gun in your home Jersey if you’re not a convicted felon. My father has an arsenal. 2, Are you suggesting that they would have been prepared and waiting for these intruders and could have fended off four armed men? Because that seems fairly unlikely. Even in his bad PA neighborhood, my gun fanatic ex-boyfriend took his gun off when he was inside his house – anyone busting through the front door would likely have caught him unawares, and he was as paranoid as they come. Make arguments for gun rights all you want, but it doesnt help your case to cite unlikely possible scenarios. What would have helped in this scenario is an activated home alarm system and a solid door with multiple locks. That’s what saved my family in a home invasion situation when I was a child – not all my father’s guns.

Okay, so when the bad guys are dragging you down the street, me your neighbor will watch from the safety of my own home while your precious home alarm and door locks save your life. Thank you JRZWRLD, maybe you can run for politics next. You’re absolutely right, no need for guns, door locks save lives.

Do you hear that everyone, just lock your door, turn on your alarm, JRZWRLD says you’ll be fine. Thank you, thank you.

all i heard was baaaaahh baaaah baaahhh baaaah from JRZWRLD, ” When seconds counts, the police are minutes away.”

LMAO do some research..New Jersey is in the top 3 states (#2) in terms of difficuty of obtaining a firearm, let alone an “arsenal”. Idk about you but i bet your father is/was a police officer or has ties to your local precinct. An ordinary person has a 7 percent chance of obtaining a firearm permit if they do not have an excuse with har facts to back it, like personal safety from a stalker or witness protection.

I think it’s great that NJ restricts legal gun owners. No just no need for anyone to have a gun when the police are so readily available to stop crime, even in your own home. Thank you NJ, thank you John Corzine you’ve made us all so much safer with your gun laws.
