PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia fashion designer and former reality show contestant gives a sneak peek of her fall line.

The label is called “Strangefruit,” and the designer is Kristin Haskins Simms. She was a contestant on Lifetime’s “Project Runway,” season eight. Kristin says she didn’t win the $100,000 prize but doors have opened for her.

“Retailers are actually listening to me now. So what happened was that when I got to Project Runway, at least they started to raise their eyebrows and say, ‘Oh well, if they liked her maybe we should take another look.’ ”

Kristin’s fall 2011 capsule collection will be available for purchase over the summer at her online store, bestrangefruit.com.

Kristin will be hosting a fashion challenge at Macy’s center city store, at 5:30 p.m. this coming Wednesday.
