Robbery Suspect Dies In Delaware Car Crash
SEAFORD, Del. (AP) -- A 33-year-old Seaford man suspected of robbing a woman is dead after a car crash shortly after the robbery.
Delaware State Police say 33-year-old Brad Cooper knocked a 56-year-old woman to the ground Friday night and stole her purse in a Seaford parking lot.
About 15 minutes later, police were called to a crash between a pickup truck and an SUV. Police say Cooper was driving the pickup, drifted into the wrong lane and collided head-on with the SUV.
Cooper was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. A passenger in his truck, 33-year-old Chad Cooper of Seaford is in critical condition. The stolen purse was found in Cooper's car.
Police say 40-year-old Ricardo Sandoval of Bridgeville was driving the SUV. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, along with two passengers.
