Sick Flight Attendants Cause Philadelphia-Bound Plane To Stop In Chicago
CHICAGO, Ill. (CBS) - A late-night arrival is expected for 150 passengers whose Philadelphia-bound U.S. Airways flight was diverted to Chicago.
Two of Flight 658’s three flight attendants took ill not far from Chicago.
The pilot of the fully-loaded Airbus A-320 then requested, and received permission to divert to Chicago O’Hare International Airport where fire trucks and paramedics lined the runway for their arrival.
Paramedics treated the flight attendants, but they refused to be transported to local hospitals. The ailing attendants left the plane without sufficient crew which caused the 150 passengers to be placed on other flights.
