Philadelphia Man Gets 8 Years In Sex Tourism Case

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for traveling to Egypt to have sex with underage girls, two of whom became pregnant following what he called Islamic marriages.

Thirty-three-year-old Omar Rashaad Bey was also ordered Thursday to serve 10 years of supervised release and register as a sex offender after his release.

Prosecutors say Bey is a "predator" who entered into sham marriages with underage girls so he could have sex with them. Bey's attorney said the girls' families approved of the relationships.

Bey apologized at his sentencing but said he is a faithful Muslim and a loving father to the 12 children that he's had with eight women.

Bey had pleaded guilty in September. U.S. District Judge Jan DuBois ordered him to jail immediately.
