Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Tree In Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are investigating a single-car crash that claimed the life of a woman in Northeast Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The deadly accident happened shortly after midnight in the northbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard near Comly Road.

According to police, the 28-year-old driver, identified as Melissa Coleman, somehow lost control of her car and slammed into a tree. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deadly accident remains under police investigation.
