New Media Venture For Philadelphia’s Gay And Lesbian Community

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Magazine has launched a new magazine and website dedicated to Philadelphia’s gay and lesbian community.

The new magazine is called ‘G Philly.’ Tom McGrath, editor of Philadelphia Magazine hopes ‘G Philly’ becomes a guide for folks to refer back to both in print and online.

“There’s everything in here from the best drag queen in Philadelphia to the best place for a first date,” McGrath said.

McGrath adds that it took over a year to launch the first issue.

“We had a lot of help from an advisory board that we put together, about two dozen people in the city of Philadelphia and in some of the suburbs and the more outlying areas,” McGrath said.

When will the second issue come out?

“Our plan right now is to do one issue of the magazine this year and then we’ll see down the road if we can do some more issues, but up and running right now is this website which includes a daily blog,” McGrath said.

Thanks Tom! An Outstanding publication. Slick and attractive presentation. Eye catching cover. Great content. Keep up the Great work.

Where else are they available in Northwest Philadelphia? My friend got the last one at a brewery on Germantown Ave. in Mount Airy and I would like to get a copy to share with friends and keep as a collectors item.
