Golfers Dust Off Clubs

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (CBS) - The calendar says it's winter, but today's near-record warmth is causing golfers to dust off the clubs and hit the links.

A breezy but mild day at the Pennsauken Country Club where Paulo Velarde of Bristol, Pa. is getting ready to take advantage of the warm weather and take his first golf swing of 2011.

"I don't know what the course looks like now. I just hope, like, the greens are not that horrible. But I don't expect anything great today. I just want to swing a club."

Expectations were also low for Bob Lineman of Bensalem, Pa. "I'm just glad to be out here. I don't care if it goes ten feet. I'm just glad to be out on the golf course," he said.

"You look forward, in February, to getting out on the golf course. You're happy - you don't care if you're out in the snow. You're out playing. Because it could be another month before you get out again."

Golfers say they want to get out on this unseasonably warm day to shake the winter rust from their swings, and bring their putting games out of hibernation.
