By Jim Donovan: Delta Air Lines has made a change to its frequent flier program that will put a smile on passengers faces. Delta says that effective January 1, 2011 miles accrued in the SkyMiles frequent flier program will no longer expire.
In the past, members of its SkyMiles program had to redeem miles for flights or engage in other qualifying activities to keep their miles beyond 24 months.
This is just the most recent change that Delta has made to the SkyMiles program. Last year the airline eliminated all award redemption fees and added a new Diamond Medallion tier. It also eliminated all award redemption fees.
