PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two local squads are going in opposite directions in this week’s AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll.

Villanova’s two losses — to Rutgers and Pittsburgh — cost them six slots in this week’s rankings.  The Wildcats, now 19-6, fall from number 9 to number 15 as they get ready to visit Seton Hall on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Temple moves up one place this week, a couple of Owls wins enabling them to go from number 24 to number23.    The Owls are now 19-5 this season, and they will host Richmond on Thursday.

Kansas is the new #1 team in the land, the Jayhawks overtaking Ohio State for the top spot this week.  The Buckeyes lost for the first time over the weekend to #10 Wisconsin, and they fall to #2.
