Analysis: The Future Of Philadelphia's Two Dailies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The future of newspapers has been a question mark for years.

Greg Osberg, the new publisher of the Daily News and Inquirer has launched digital editions of the two papers; changed the layouts and is convinced that two dailies can survive in Philadelphia.

The key he says is to make the papers totally different. "The strategic plan now is to separate the two papers in terms of focus. There was a lot of overlap in competition between the two papers, I felt. There's probably only one, room for one large paper in any market that's focusing on news," said Osberg.

"But I think there's an opportunity in this market for another paper to focus on tabloid journalism and that's where the Daily News is going."
