iPhone Fans Line Up Outside Verizon Store In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - For the first time ever, Verizon's 94 million customers can get an iPhone without switching carriers. Some of them braved the cold and waited for an opportunity to buy one outside the Verizon store at 17th and Market Streets early this morning.

The line began forming around 5 a.m. Brad Feldman, a Temple student, was first in line and is excited to fill his phone with all sorts of new apps.

"They have all different ones, like I've read you can get yourself medical exams, to buying airline tickets, yeah wide range."

Verizon's Harry Martin says it's quite a phenomenon how many people want the new smart phone.

"It's almost as if it's a cult following, people are just gravitating toward the phone."

And he says for good reason. The iPhone 4 offers its own mobile Wi-Fi hotspot which can connect to 5 other devices. He says that could come in handy on long family road trips.
