PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Chris Wright scored 27 points to lead Dayton to an 85-81 victory over La Salle, snapping a three-game road losing streak.
Wright scored 21 in the second half — including the final four points on two dunks — and had a career-high six blocks for the Flyers (17-7, 5-4 Atlantic 10 Conference).
Dayton led 81-74 with 27 seconds left, but La Salle’s Cole Stefan hit a 3-pointer and Earl Pettis followed with a layup to cut the margin to 81-79 with 9 seconds left.
Wright’s first dunk extended the lead, and after Pettis scored again, Wright closed the scoring with another dunk with 4 seconds to play.
Chris Johnson scored 12 points to reach double figures for the 15th time in his past 16 games. Josh Parker added 12 points for Dayton.
Pettis finished with 24 points for the Explorers (11-13, 3-6), Stefan had 15, Steve Weingarten added 13 and Tyreek Duren scored 12.
