Man Injured In Chester Gunfire

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) –- Overnight gunfire in Chester left a 21 year-old man injured.

Police were patrolling the area of the 700 block of Kerlin Street early Saturday morning when gunmen opened fire on them from a GMC Yukon.

Police pursued the vehicle to Ninth and Kerlin, where the vehicle's occupants fled on foot to a rear yard, forcing one of the officers to fire on the suspects.

A 21 year-old man was struck and transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.
