PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Sulaiman Rahman is the CEO and president of UrbanPhilly.com, a user-generated website that lists the latest happenings in and around Greater Philadelphia.
Rahman, a Northeast Philly native, says he was always in the know about his hometown.
“Going to the University of Penn, a lot of the students came from out of town, and therefore I would be the person everyone would come to and ask what was happening in Philly,” he recalls.
Rahman is also founder of the Urban Philly Professional Network.
“The mission (of UPPN),” he explains, “is to engage, empower, and connect.”
He’s also chairman of the board of directors of the African-American Chamber of Commerce.
“There are so many great things that are here. So many opportunities that are here. So many things that are woven into Philadelphia from a history perspective and an arts and culture perspective,” Rahman told KYW Newsradio recently.
