Moving Day For Phils

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It may be the first sign of Spring -- a 53 foot moving van packed with all kinds of equipment, clothing, and supplies will leave Citizens Bank and make the annual trek to Florida on Friday.

Frank Coppenbarger, the director of team travel and clubhouse services says it takes about three hours for a brigade of staffers to load the big truck and send it on its way with everything needed to run spring training. We're talking about thousands and thousands of baseballs, bats, tee shirts, hats, pants and helmets. But he says there's much more than that. Afterall, the front office staff also heads south.

"You know, there's people who have children, there's toys, there's bicycles, golf clubs, fishing poles. There's non-baseball type items on the truck that when you're there that long, you're basically uprooting and moving your life for a couple of months."

The truck arrives at Brighthouse Field on Sunday and Coppenbarger and his staff will unload it all, ahead of the arrival of pitchers and catchers.
