PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A pilot healthy eating program was launched today for low income residents of Southwest Philadelphia.
A dietitian provided nutritional information to residents of Bartram Village housing development participating in the free healthy eating program.
Then, Chef Cynthia Cave McFadden (pictured, right) demonstrated how to make a healthy chicken wrap and to get away from fried foods.
“And it’s boneless, skinless chicken and its got red pepper, green bell pepper, onions and its got 2% fat-free cheese and its on whole grain wheat wraps.”
The free program It’s once a week for the next five weeks. It’s a joint effort between State Senator Anthony Williams and the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
