No Snow Days For Students At Cyber Schools

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - For thousands of students in Pennsylvania, there's no worry about snow days.

Jayme Bartolomeo, 17, of South Philadelphia is one of about 30,000 school students in Pennsylvania who attend cyber school - attending classes in the comfort of their own homes.

"I don't have to go out of my house. I sit in and we get breaks between each class."

Jayme's mom, Deborah, says the fact that she doesn't have to dig out her car on snowy mornings is just one benefit.

"You fear that she's going to get hurt on her way, she's going to fall, she's going to get to school and she's going to be soaking wet," Deborah said. "It's a lot easier on my mind."

Jayme is an 11th grader at the Achievement House Cyber Charter School that has a physical address in Exton. About 650 students in grades 7th to 12th are enrolled.
