I am an out of state parent with an affected student at this complex(4400/Spruce). There were no emergency housing arrangements for the affected tenants. Most of these tenants are from out of state, have no support group near by, have no money for alternative housing, and do not know their rights in this situation. I myself tried to find help for my child. Campus Apts. didn’t answer their phones, Peco had a false phone recording, and PGW that answered their phones had no answers or help. I tried calling 411 to find someone to help and they could only give me numbers for offices that were closed. OEM had a web posting that there was a blue code in affect…police are to round up homeless due to severe cold….but no help for my child without heat or electric. Please do a story informing people whom they can contact after hours in case of such emergencies and what their rights are. My hands were tied and I could not help my child….imagine that feeling.
