Weekend Box Office: <em> No Strings Attached </em> is #1

(CBS) - No Strings Attached, the romantic comedy with Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, attached itself to first place on its debut weekend. It was the weekend's only new mainstream title and it took in an estimated $20 million.
 
That was enough to drop last weekend's ticket-selling leader The Green Hornet, the Seth Rogen-starring comic thriller, to second place. It earned $18 million in its second weekend of release.
 
Third through fifth place went to holdovers The Dilemma, The King's Speech, and True Grit, none of which cleared the $10 million mark.
 
Overall, it was another lackluster January weekend, with industry-wide totals well below those of the counterpart weekend last year.
