CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) – Camden County authorities have made an arrest in the shooting death of a woman struck by a stray bullet while she waited to get food at a Camden deli.
Twenty-eight-year-old Taurean Houston of Camden is charged with murder in the death of 20-year-old Anjanea Williams, who was shot in the torso Thursday afternoon. She was taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden, where she died that night.
Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the county prosecutor’s office, says Williams was not the intended target of the shooting. But it’s still not clear what sparked the incident.
Houston was arrested Friday afternoon by U.S. Marshals following a traffic stop in Camden. He was being held in the county jail on Sunday and it was not known if he had retained a lawyer.
