PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Samme Givens and Chris Fouch scored 17 points apiece as Drexel jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 72-58 win over Northeastern on Saturday.
The Dragons (12-6, 4-4 Colonial Athletic Association), who ended a two-game skid, led 17-3 with 11:35 to go in the first half and 34-21 at halftime.
The Huskies (4-14, 0-8) shot only 28.6 percent from the field in the first half (6 of 21). Despite improving to 48.3 percent (14 of 29) in the second, they could get no closer than 12 points in losing their ninth straight game.
Drexel, which shot 46.9 percent for the game (23 of 49), also got 12 points from Gerald Colds.
The Dragons were 23 of 30 from the free-throw line, hitting 17 of 22 in the second half.
Drexel also had a 38-23 rebounding edge.
Joel Smith led Northeastern with 19 points, hitting 6 of 11 from 3-point range, and Dinko Marshavelski had 12.
